While Fal Narn has been a province of the Rakkhari Commonwealth for many generations, it has always been a somewhat reluctant one. And in truth, the Rakkhari leadership hasn’t been too eager to convince them to become more involved. To the Rakkhari, the Fal Narni are too strange and their ways too odd. As long as they keep their lands clean of any worship of Gods and keep contributing resources to the Commonwealth a steady, though distant balance is kept.
Nowhere is this odd relationship as visible as in the position of Rajal of Fal Narn. This position as the de facto leader of Fal Narn is one that is seen more like a punishment or burden among the high families rather than a desirable one. Because while it comes with privileges, it also comes with the massive burden of taking care of the diplomatic relationship with not only the Rakkhari leadership, but also the Dalari - the neighbouring province who so enjoys testing the limits of what they can get away with. Some call it “the flower prison”, a gilded cage among the clouds.
