MYTHS & FAITHS
The dreadful conviction
A faith centralized around fear, spreading through the world.
In the lenorian colonies, word has started spreading through distant travelers about a bizarre faith, growing in the lands beyond the oceans. It is a faith where fear reigns in black halls. It hardly needs to be said that this faith is only spoken of in hushed voices. Though some say that the faith instead strives to understand the divine, where fear is the only natural emotion when confronted with something greater than yourself - a path to greater understanding.
The following of the Godslayer Rakkath
A fight against all gods, dominant throughout the Rakkhari realm, and spreading.
This ideology has its basis in the legend of the Godslayer Rakkath, who begun a crusade against the tyrannical gods that had enslaved humanity. This gave birth to a movement that is constantly growing in influence. Central to the belief is the thought that all people have a right to be free from slavery, wether the master is a god or human. However, the ideology also expects everyone to do their part and pull their own weight. The strong shall flourish and the weak will be left behind...
The Javenian faith
A surreal religion, the central and only faith of the javenian theocracy.
The Javenian faith has one central figure: the Master, the mighty godhead that gave the javenians their gifts and made them more than merely human. Beneath the master are the nine zealots, those that were ascended to godhood and given dominion over the world. All those who follow the faith are expected to serve in any way necessary, even if it means giving their lives for the faith, so that they may ascend above the human form.
The myth of the eastern lands
A faith that urges to constant travel, mainly existing in Norn and Lenori.
This is a religion with very old roots, but also one which has grown less influential in recent times. At it heart, it is centered around one idea: that its followers must never stall or grow complacent in one place. Instead they must travel ever onwards, seeking the blessed lands in the distant east. There, the Sovreign of all lands and oceans will reward the diligent followers, while all others shall be left behind in stagnant death. A more modern creed, which developed when confronted with the idea that the earth is round, instead of infinitely expanding, suggests that this is just as much a metaphorical journey as a physical, where the spirit changes just as the world does. The distant east is perhaps not a physical place, but the fulfillment of the soul, which only travel can bring.
Following the war with the Rakkhari, this faith has seen a new emergence in Norn, and has started gaining ground in Lenori as well.
Starat skav - the law of the land
A faith based on laws given by the gods themselves, a declining faith in Lenori.
The old stories tell that the birth of Lenori was not only a heroic feat of simple men and women, but aided by the very gods. As Lenori freed itself from its opressor, the nation of Norn, these gods told them of the law of the land, a way of life that the people should follow so that they may prosper. They were told to appreciate their gifts, but always remain vigilant, should they need to fight for what they had and cherished. To remind the people of this, the gods would send messengers as signs, which wise men and women would interpret and preach to the masses.
The way of the stars
A faith that gazes to the stars, primarily dominant in Serdanos.
This faith, led by the Celestial Order of Dragomen in Serdanos is centered around one central thought: that there is order in the universe, and this order may be divined through the stars. From cradle to grave, the stars hold the fate of every person that have ever existed, as long as you know how to look. Adherence to your path is very important, and to abandon the paths that has been laid before you without the agreement of a Dragoman is seldom tolerated.
This ideology has slowly been gaining ground in Lenori, where more and more people pay heed the the words of the Seran Dragomen.
